The quilt is done, except for the tag. I still don’t know what to call it, but it looks great. Tag info will include the quilt’s name (whenever I decide what that will be), who made it (that’s me), who it’s for and why (that’s a secret), and when it was made. I make the [...]
Veteran’s Day
I’d like to extend my thanks to all those who serve and have served in the armed forces. I may not agree with the government on all points, but the individuals who serve our country deserve a great deal more than simple respect. My servicemen, past and present: Bernard H. Wright, Sr. – US Navy [...]
Good Things
It’s been a good day. The first day of the new job went well. I got word last night that both my mentors approved my manuscript, which means the biggest step toward graduation is done. Whee! The new Discovery Channel show, Time Warp? FANTASTIC. Seriously. Check it out.
Monday, Monday, Monday!
I was going to wait until I had time to upload some photos from this weekend before I posted, but that will be silly, since I won’t have time until at least tomorrow. The backpacking trip was lovely, in almost all the possible connotations of the term. The only down side, so far, is that [...]
Miscellanea
It’s been a busy few days. At least one rather large piece of news that will affect our financial state is in the tubes for reals, but I won’t announce it all public-like on the blog until all the appropriate people in real life know first. Props to the October 3 birthday boys: William (my [...]
El Fin
It’s done. At least, done enough to send to my mentors. Which is pretty darn done. Whee!
Whee!
There are no longer essential chunks of manuscript missing from my novel. All the big gaps have been filled, and it feels lovely to be able to say that. There are, of course, several threads that I need to be sure are securely woven throughout the course of the story, but most of those will [...]
Apples!
I would really rather read instead of work on the novel today – it just seems like that sort of day. But Will assures me that at this point in his own Seton Hill experience, he felt the same way, and he highly advocates working on the novel every day *before* reading fun stuff. So [...]
Non-Writing Things
It’s cold outside today. No, not just “I might wear capris instead of shorts” cold, 53 degrees cold. That’s like. . . 30 degrees colder than yesterday. And I have to say, I love Colorado. You just never know what you’re going to get. Also, the jeans I was so happy about last week? They’re [...]
Home Sweet Home
We rolled into our apartment complex a little after 5:00 yesterday, having stopped at a grocery store on the way into town to get things like milk and eggs. The whole drive was pleasant (aside from the raging thunderstorms in Kansas, but we were moving west and they were moving east, so it worked out [...]
